Ugly Makes Good - 471/2"WX73"H ($250)

“Ugly Makes Good” started with 16 perfectly hideous purple squares and the plan was to create a charity quilt. It was so ugly I couldn’t bear finishing it and challenged myself to “make it better”. Could it be improved on? Could I somehow redeem this quilt? Every border that ventured out from those “ugly” purple blocks contributed something new and tried by sheer invention or audacity to scare the ugliness out of the center. By the time I threw in the black and white polka dots I couldn’t go on, but did I succeed in transforming Ugly into Good?
